Fall Membership Drive

5:00 PM

We hosted our first official membership drive with great success! Located across from the library on the Eastern Wyoming College campus, members had the opportunity to speak with faculty, administrators, and students throughout the day.

Not only did we have a great turn out by our own members, we were able to recruit four new members and collect 37 cards full of contact information of interested parties. We even welcomed our first two male members!

Ellen and Deb take a break between the rush of classes.
Available on the table were brochures, pamphlets, and postcards offering information on what AAUW stands for and who they represent. Freebies such as mints, pencils, and pens were handed out and a drawing was conducted for a prize of an AAUW coffee mug and another for a water bottle!

Ellen and Deb speak with a passerby about what AAUW is; encouraging him to take a doughnut.

Coffee and donuts were offered to passersby and an AAUW video played on a laptop for those interested in more thorough information on the importance of speaking up against the gender pay gap inequality and women's rights.

Gail and Sherril hang out in "The Corner" just before students started heading in for lunch.

For a short period around lunch time we even set up a table in "The Corner" by the cafeteria. We were able to engage many students on their way to lunch and strike up lively conversations!

The Membership Committee would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to those who participated by working the tables, speaking with students and faculty, and representing AAUW in a respectful and positive way. This event has been our branch's most successful membership drive to date.

Thank you for helping and participating! See you next time!
